About the author

Rie LaMarr is from Los Angeles, California and is a native Angeleno.  Being a comedic actor and having a passion for adventure, she traveled up coast, leaving Hollywood behind for The Last Frontier. Her first Alaskan port was Skagway,  a gold rush mecca. With her training in gems, LaMarr found work selling diamonds, gold  and other precious gems to tourists. She quickly fell in love with Alaska. Her personal journey inspired her to write about it.

LaMarr is a world traveler and story teller.  She currently resides in Skagway.

Skagway Alaska, the beginning of adventure during the Klondike Gold Rush.  The town is within the Klondike Gold Rush National Park, where original buildings and stories are chronicled.  The arduous and famous Chilkoot Trail begins nearby and the town has become a desired cruise destination during the summer.
